Early 19th Century Pennsylvania Carved and Painted Pipe Box
Early 19th century Pennsylvania carved and painted pipe box. Masterfully carved and painted pipe box designed to hang on the wall or stand on a mantle. The backboard carved with a pot of flowers rising above the top of the opening, the front with an arched opening below a pair of tulips and above a pair of birds and the whole with pierced carved rings creating scalloped edges. The carved details are painted in red, cream, yellow and green all on a green ground.
