Rare Sewing Basket by W. Penn Sandsbury

11" Shallow round sewig basket with carved heart shaped handles and a Mahogany plaque with multiple concentric lines, retaining its original paper label nice patina in excellant condition, c. 1890.Sandsbury worked on a couple of whaleships, but the majority of his career, 25 years, was spent on board the South Shoal Lightship, his brother was Captain Andrew Sandsbury who captained the South Shoal for 12 years
