The basket has a dark patina throughout, made with Oak staves and a swing handle that's notched and rounded at the ends and attached with brass ears. The bottom plaque is made of Cherry. Attributed to Andrew Jackson Sandsbury (1830-1902) put in 20 years on board the South Shoal Lightship (1872-1892), the last 12 as captain.
