Following in the footsteps of the original makers, we feature a wide assortment of contemporary artisans whose purses are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and prices. With the addition of one the many carved ivory embellishments we carry and possibly an interior quarterboard, hand scrimshawed with the owner’s name, any basket can be your own creation and a timeless piece to treasure always as either a display piece or a purse to carry while shopping, lunching, or cocktailing. We are proud to feature the talented creations of Bill & Judy Sayle, Martin Brown, Terry Sylvia, Larry Brewster, and Lucille LaRochelle.

Measuring 7 inches wide, this purse is unusual in its smaller size and its wide leather strap hinges and metal reinforced front hasp (all fully original and operational). It also features an elegant ivory Sperm whale embellishment, likely carved by the hand of Charles Sayle, on the Walnut plaque, and the brand of the artist on the exterior base.
